Dr. Vikas Pathak
Dr. Vikas Pathak is a skilled and experienced Interventional Pulmonologist and Critical Care Medicine specialist who has been serving the Richmond community since 2021. As the co-founder and CEO of Virginia Lung, he is dedicated to addressing the pulmonary needs of his patients with decade-long expertise and compassion.

Known for his compassionate care and expertise in pulmonary medicine, Dr. Pathak began his medical journey in Nepal, where he completed his medical school. He then moved to New York for his residency and later advanced his training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, specializing in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM). Dr. Pathak further honed his expertise through an Interventional Pulmonology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, graduating in 2015.
Dr. Pathak’s commitment extends beyond clinical practice. Actively involved in research, he has published several manuscripts and contributed to numerous professional societies, including ATS, CHEST, SCCM, and AABIP. Along with his studies, Dr. Pathak demonstrates his commitment to medical education by mentoring medical students and residents. His dedication has earned him numerous accolades, including Best Resident of the Year (twice) and the Philip Bromberg Award for academic excellence. Dr. Pathak also serves on the board of directors of philanthropic organizations, supporting communities in need of medical care.
